PR people have evolved rapidly from the (sad but true) party-throwers and the lunch-meisters of the Sixties and Seventies, through the Amplifiers & Spoof Specialists of the Eighties and the Spin Doctors of the Nineties ... to emerge, rightfully, at the heart of Marketing Communications in the Noughties (and beyond). As one of these sections highlights, PR really is no longer about Spin: Trust, Credibility & Influence are everything... and everything that PR can - and should - properly own. Our time has come.
The media landscape is also changing faster than ever before. Citizen Journalism is a truth, not a fanciful wish or cliché. And new channels are emerging almost daily. Social Networking has transformed our media consumption lives and we are now witnessing the Democratisation (if that really is a word) of almost everything.
